Independent Slow Fashion
Maison Mikumo is a woman-owned and operated independent slow fashion house that prides itself on combining high-quality sustainability-forward materials with ethical, low-waste production methods to create timeless, feminine designs for your conscious closet.
We operate under the principle of "people and planet first" and practice radical transparency, sharing our behind-the-scenes design process as well as the efforts & costs that go into each of our individual pieces.
-
Earth-friendly
We only use high quality, environmentally-conscious materials, such as recycled polyester, ethically harvested merino wool, organic cotton, and ecoviscose.
Additionally, we donate 5% of our profits to environmental nonprofits and plant trees with every order in partnership with One Tree Planted.
-
Low waste
We combine small-batch and zero-inventory on-demand production to prevent over-stocking and waste.
Any excess material is repurposed or donated to nonprofits to be reused, upcycled, or downcycled into usable materials.

Made with love
All of our styles are original designs by an independent Asian-American artist. Our clothing is crafted with fair labor in small factories in both Brooklyn, NY and India, in order to offer our customers ethical products in a range of price points. Our on-demand knitwear is also made in Brooklyn, NY, by cutting-edge 3D knitting technology, and hand-finished by a highly experienced team of garment workers.
